Art Swanson founded Swansons Sound Service in 1926.
And in the early days, search lights were added to the inventory. A few years later, Swanson's panel trucks with large roof-mounted audio horns could be seen at most of the large community events. These trucks were also used to pull advertising billboards. In the late seventies Swanson expanded its services to include the design and installation of permanent sound systems.
Donald
A. Nielsen, who
was an employee of Swanson Sound Service for several years, assumed ownership of the company in 1952. At that time
Don decided to sell the search light division and focused entirely
on sound system rentals.
Throughout
the sixties, seventies and eighties. Swanson Sound Service established
itself as one of
the premier sound companies, providing large touring systems for
the Pop, Rock and Soul acts of that time.
